Become Batman in this high octane brawler for Android devices. Inspired by the console gaming series, Arkham Origins pits you against some of Bruce Wayne's most notorious villains in a series of one on one battles against the likes of Harley Quinn, Deathstroke, and Bane. The designs here draw from the series this game is based on, and they're incredibly detailed and well animated considering this is a game optimized for mobile devices. Both the environments and the music do a great job of making you feel like you're in a living, breathing version of Gotham City even if the succession of battles doesn't give you much room to explore.

As you might expect from a master of martial arts, you have a number of different fighting styles at your disposal. You can swap between multiple stances to better counter your opponent, make use of Batman's trademark gadgets, perform brutal combination moves, and even heal yourself. Pulling off moves is as simple as tapping on the screen for the most part, but there is some degree of strategy behind it all.

Reflecting its nature as a free to play game, battles are predicated on a currency system. This replenishes over time but requires you to sometimes wait before moving on to the next fight. Fortunately, there's a nice sense of progression that allows you to upgrade your gear and unlock new suits from the comics, TV shows, and movies as you work your way through the story mode.
